A scalable preconditioning framework for stabilized contact mechanics with hydraulically active fractures

•We present two preconditioners for the coupled contact mechanics and flow problem.•The approaches rely on physically-based partitioning and multigrid preconditioners.•Two different techniques are presented, analyzed, and compared.•Scalability and performances are tested through real world problems.
