Profiling oxylipins released from human platelets activated through the GPVI collagen receptor

•Platelets are central to clot formation but also have key roles in inflammation.•Eicosanoids released by activated platelets effect trans-cellular communication.•LC–MS–MS profiling found 11 eicosanoids released by platelets activated via GPVI.•Inhibition of COX-1 or 12-LOX reveals their role under physiological conditions.•Modulation of platelet-derived eicosanoids could be beneficial in disease.
