Magnesium Complexes in Organic Synthesis

Magnesium, an earth-abundant, inexpensive and environmentally friendly element, has attracted significant interest in various organic transformations. The renaissance in molecular magnesium compounds in the 21st century has opened up new avenues in catalysis. This chapter deals with the stoichiometric and catalytic reactions mediated by new magnesium compounds. Mechanistic details in some cases are discussed.
