摘要
•Functional network dynamics in hippocampus are important for cognition.•They depend on synchronized electrical activity of inhibitory and excitatory neurons.•Excitatory pyramidal neurons were thought to be a homogeneous cell class.•We show evidence of 3 distinct pyramidal cell populations.•These populations show functional differences during network rhythms.
