Changes in childhood growth after adenotonsillectomy: a population-based cohort study

•Adenotonsillectomy (T&A) is recommended as an effective therapy in children with obstructive sleep apnea.•The T&A group tended to gain more weight compared to the control group.•Increase in height was observed more than 1 year after the operation.•Careful consideration after T&A should be taken to minimize excessive weight gain.
