摘要
•Liquid embolic agents such as ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer and N-butyl cyanoacrylate glue have gained acceptance for transcatheter arterial embolization of gastrointestinal bleeding over time.•Ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer is much more expensive than N-butyl cyanoacrylate glue worldwide. Furthermore, data are missing regarding outcomes of arterial embolization with ethylene-vinyl alcohol in such a setting.•N-butyl cyanoacrylate glue for this purpose is the most studied embolic agent in the literature. It has been found to be quite cost-effective outside the United States.
