Our analyses indicated that estrogen regulation of metabolism, nuclear-mitochondrial integration, energy sensing and redox sensing is cell type specific, with an overall stronger impact in neurons than in astrocytes. Further, neuronal vs astrocytic dependent responses to estrogen are ER subtype specific.
