Presentation of CaseA 42-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of pain in the right lower quadrant of the abdomen.He was well until 10 months earlier, when he was admitted to the hospital because of severe right-lower-quadrant pain. At laparotomy the cecum and appendix were delivered through the incision; the appendix appeared red and edematous and was excised; microscopical examination of the specimen showed periappendiceal Fibrous adhesions with marked vascular congestion and slight chronic inflammation.
