Tumors of the Uterine Corpus

Tumors of the uterine corpus include endometrial and mesenchymal tumors. Carcinoma of the endometrium is the most common female pelvic malignancy, the fourth most common cancer in women in the United States, and the sixth most common malignancy in women worldwide. This chapter summarizes important concepts regarding the pertinent anatomy, epidemiology, clinical presentation, staging, imaging evaluation, and treatment of these malignancies, which are essential to the successful multidisciplinary management of these patients. Imaging remains integral to diagnosis, staging, and response assessment of these cancers, with the radiologist playing an essential role in patient care.
