Margriet Westerterp-Plantenga, PhD, is a professor of food intake regulation in humans at Maastricht University, Maastricht, the Netherlands. Pilou L. H. R. Janssens, MSc, is a PhD student in metabolism and nutrition at the Nutrition and Toxicology Research Institute, Maastricht University, the Netherlands. Funding for this study was provided by Nutrim, Maastricht University. Dr Westerterp-Plantenga is amember of the McCormick Science Institute’s Scientific Advisory Council.
