Cholesterol 7 alpha hydroxylase is the speed limiting enzyme that catalyzes the decomposition of cholesterol into the bile acid in the liver, regulated by a variety of factors, maintaining the balance of cholesterol metabolism, kinds of traditional Chinese medicine and food effect the gene expression of CYP7A1, influencing blood lipid metabolism.
