摘要
Research on degradation of textile dyestuffs using electrooxidation method and graphite electrodes from used batteries with a continuous system has been conducted. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimum conditions of NaCl concentration and process time in terms of the percentage of the reduction in absorbance/color intensity of wastewater. Experiments that have been carried out are the process of electrooxidation against artificial wastewater with various NaCl concentrations and processing times. Artificial wastewater consists of six types of solutions, each of which is made by dissolving 5 different types of textile dyestuffs with various NaCl concentrations. Five types of textile dyestuffs include remazol yellow FG, remazol orange 3R, remazol red RE cone, remazol blue 3R and remazol violet 5R. The quality parameters of wastewater that have been analyzed are the absorbance/intensity of the color of wastewater before and after processing. The results of this study indicate that both NaCl concentration and processing time affect the effectiveness of the continuous system of electrooxidation process for the degradation of textile dyestuff. The higher the concentration of NaCl and the longer the processing time, the more effective the degradation process. The optimum NaCl concentration is 1.202% w/v, while the optimum processing time is 20 minutes.
