Anaerobic Digestion of Dairy and Swine Waste

Anaerobic digestion (AD) of animal manure is an effective method for conversion of undigested plant carbon to methane for use as a transport fuel or production of electricity. The resulting liquid and solid components after AD are valuable as a source of crop nutrients and soil amendments, as well as a bedding material. Treatment of manure with AD reduces pathogens and greenhouse gases emissions.
