摘要
This chapter presents the achievements in bionanoelectronics in a coherent manner. It deals with various nanodevices applied to biostructures and their synthesis, such as cell-transistor interface, DNA switch interfaces, and so on. The focus of this chapter is on the description of bionanoelectronics, detection of biomolecules, and also various biological applications such as sending signals to nerve cells, early detection of various diseases, and nanomedicine including drug delivery. Further, this chapter describes a state-of-the-art technology named as lab-on-chip technology. The emergence of lab-on-chip technology mainly relies on the integration of interdisciplinary techniques including micro- and nanoelectronics, micro- and nanofluidics, molecular biology, biosensing, and VLSI. Finally, the concept of organ-on-chip has also been discussed in this chapter.
