摘要
The Li-S batteries are the future promising energy devices. However, the polysulfide diffusion and the lethargic kinetics of sulfur are the prominent bottle necks. Consequently, commercialization of the Li-S batteries for practical application is dragged back. In this work, multifunctional interlayer composed of Lanthanum lithium oxide is designed and tested. With this design we could obtain multifunctional interlayer combined sulfur cathode by coating of Lanthanum lithium oxide on as-fabricated cathode. The multifunctional interlayer with the striking features of good electronic and ionic conductivity as well as effective polysulfide trap resulted in boosted performance of Li-S batteries. The modified cathode with expanded sulfur could deliver 1458.00 mA h g-1 capacity at initial cycle and 1004.40 mA h g-1 during the first cycle at 1C rate with superb cycling stability up to 250th cycle offering the corresponding residual discharge capacity of 872.79 mA h g-1 in Li-S batteries. And, the rate performance has been improved by the facile strategy.
