Cuk-derived five-level T-type inverter (CD- 5LT2I)

In this paper, a Cuk-derived five-level T- type inverter (CD-5LT 2 I) is proposed that benefits from the advantages of both of Cuk-based inverters as well as T-type structures. Unlike many inverter topologies, CD- 5LT 2 I has a wide range of voltage step up/down and, at the same time, is a single-stage converter; therefore, it does not need any additional dc-dc conversion stage to boost up the dc voltage fed to the inverter. It also has a high efficiency thanks to T-type structure of the output bridge. Moreover, it generates a five-level line-to-line output voltage that helps to lower the harmonic content at the output voltage leading to smaller filter size. This paper presents the principles of the operation of this inverter and evaluates its performance through simulation.
