摘要
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common sustained heart rhythm disorder, with a higher prevalence in men than women. Regarding clinical presentation, female had higher rate of symptomatic AF, thereafter their quality of life was significantly lower than in male. Moreover, women were more likely to have atypical presentation, which might contribute to the worse outcomes seen in female, as they might delay diagnosis and care. Concerning catheter ablation of AF, there is no difference in the preablation setting between women and men, although it seems there are some sex differences in terms of ablation targets. Moreover, there are conflicting data sex-related difference on safety and efficacy of catheter ablation.
