Defense Resources Optimization for AC-DC Hybrid System Against the Coordination Attack of False Data Injection Attack and Physical Attack

With the application of advanced information technology in the smart grid, the possibility of false data injection attack (FDIA) on the power system is increasing. The coordination attack of FDIA and physical attack will seriously threaten the security of the power system operation. The defense method for coordination attack is necessary for power system operation. Among the existing defense methods, reducing the attack loss by allocating defense resources in advance is an effective defense method. However, the existing defense resource allocation strategy mainly forces on AC system, which is not suitable for AC-DC hybrid system due to the coupling characteristics of AC and DC system. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a two-layer optimization method to optimize defense resources for AC-DC hybrid system against the coordination attack of FDIA and physical attack. The upper-layer model formulates the optimal allocation plan of defense resource to minimize the system load loss; the lower-layer model formulates the optimal attack plan to maximize the attack consequences. Next, the particle swarm algorithm is employed to solve the two-layer model to obtain the best resource allocation scheme in the most severe attack scenario. Finally, the effectiveness of this method is verified in modified IEEE 11 bus system.
