Avaliação histórica dos impactos ambientais no rio Cochó decorrentes da expansão da cidade de Seabra, BA (1970 - 2020)

This research has evaluated historically the expansion of the city of Seabra and the environmental and socioeconomic impacts related to the Rio Cocho (Cocho River).  The results showed that the city stood out in different ways in Chapada Diamantina, and that the Cocho River proved to be an attractive factor for local development. The relationship between the degradation of the river with the absence of urban environmental planning and the lack of collective awareness regarding the importance of the river was evidenced. Measures related to the recovery of the river, urban environmental planning, besides historical and ambient education were listed. In short, this work reaffirmed the relationship between the history of a place and its socio-environmental consequences, through the evaluation of the expansion process of the city of Seabra and the degradation of the Cocho River.
