A Scoping Review of Clinical Unstructured Text Information Extraction

Extracting information from Electronic Health Records(EHRs) and applying it to clinical research and hospital management has been very effective. Compared with the capacity of Chinese EHRs data, there is still much work in research and application to be carried out on Chinese information extraction. Helping clinical professionals understand the progress of Information Extraction(IE) at home and abroad is intention of this scoping review. We obtain research articles from five databases including IEEE, MDELINE etc., and retain 189 articles screened by two authors. We analyze IE from five aspects, problem definition, data preprocessing, knowledgebase establishment, method training and testing, method practical application and upgrade iteration. Finally, we focus on summarizing and analyzing the state of art in Chinese information extraction works.
