摘要
Objectives:The objective of this study is to investigate the correlation between serum lipids (TC, LDL, HDL, TG) and erectile dysfunction (ED). Method: The clinical epidemiologic method was used to compare 120 ED patients with 120 healthy individuals in terms of their lipid profile (TC,TG, LDL, HDL) from May 2005 to July 2008. Results: The results showed that there was a significant difference in mean plasma TC, LDL, HDL levels between ED patients and the control group (P0.05,P0.05,P0.05, respectively). The TG mean plasma level differences were not significant (P0.05). Odds ratios for high plasma TC level and high plasma LDL level were 1.58 and 1.78. Conclusions: Our findings indicate that there is a significant correlation between dyslipidemia with ED, suggesting an etiologic role for dyslipidemia in vasculogenic ED.
