A combined analysis of the K+ → π0e+ν and K+ → π0μ+ν decay modes

Abstract A model independent determination of the form factors ξ(q2) and f(q2) has been made, measuring, in intervals of q2, the partial branching ratio Γ ( K μ3 + ) Γ( K e 3 + ) and using the results of the Ke3+ Dalitz plot density analysis. No experimental evidence has been found for a strong deviation from a linear q2 dependence of the form factors. Within this approximation a combined analysis of the Ke3+ and Kμ3+ Dalitz plots gives the parameters λ0 = −0.017 ± 0.011 or alternatively ξ(0) = −1.3 ± 0.7 and ξ(4.4 mπ2) = −0.45 ± 0.13, with in both cases a fitted value of λ+ = 0.025 ± 0.007.
