CuWO4/CuS heterojunction photocatalyst for the application of visible-light-driven photodegradation of dye pollutions

•Heterojunction structure of CuWO4/CuS was firstly reported.•The heterojunction shows enhanced photocatalytic performance than every single structure.•The holes and superoxide anion radicals that play essential roles in the process of photocatalytic degradation with CuWO4/CuS.•CuWO4/CuS possesses general applicability of photodegradation organic dyes.
