摘要
This paper presents a characterization method using the backscattering fields of the antenna in radar mode. When the antenna is matched, it captures an amount of the received energy, which it transfers to the terminal load impedance. When placing a totally mismatched load (short or open circuits), the antenna re-radiates. The possibility to separate the modes involved in the diffraction leads to isolate the antenna mode from the other modes and thus access to the characteristic parameters of the antenna (descriptors). The calibration methods of the radar-mode measurements are essential to extract cleanly the antenna mode. Two calibration methods are compared in this summary. A phenomenological model of the cavity allows to explain the effect of the terminal impedance on the resonant frequency.
