摘要
We developed a new design of a split ring resonator (SRR) m etamaterial (MTM) structure in a circular waveguide which is similar to a mitron [1] and we calculate its dispersion relatio nship in L-band. We propose two different arrangements of S RRs in the cylinder. One kind is the SRR in a “crab-like” con figuration arranged in the azimuthal direction and the other is a SRR interdigitally arranged in the radial direction in a cyli nder. The period in both arrangements was chosen so as to sat isfy the condition that characterizes MTMs [2]. It is shown t hat when the L-band SRR is interdigitatally arranged in the ra dial direction within a cylinder with radius 2.0 cm and height 6.5 cm, the lowest TM 01 mode eigenmode frequency is 1.20 GHz. When the L-band SRR in a “crab-like” is arranged in th e azimuthal direction within a cylinder with a radius 2.0 cm a nd height 6.5 cm, the lowest TE 11 mode eigenmode frequency is 1.45 GHz. This new design of SRRs arranged within a cyli ndrical waveguide can be referenced as a new M-type high p ower microwave generator (HPM) with more compact volume.
