Considering the current simulation or experimental research on the impulse withstand of arrester resistor, most of the impulse excitation is 2 nu square wave impulse current or 8 / 20 mu The P-G simulation model of metal oxide varistors is built by using ATP-EMTP simulation software, and the power frequency withstand characteristics of 500kV varistors with different numbers are simulated, The results show that: under the same working conditions, there is a big difference between the new and old resistance values, the test voltage and current waveforms are basically the same, the withstand time is close, and the withstand voltage peak is close.
