Different precompression does not reduce the diagnostic value of virtual touch tissue imaging and quantification (VTIQ) in breast lesions, especially for the ratio of the shear wave velocity between lesions and surrounding tissues

•Shear wave elastography were used to evaluate breast lesions at different precompression.•Diagnostic parameters included the lesion-to-surrounding tissues shear wave velocity ratios.•Precompression does increase the stiffness of breast lesions, fat and gland tissues.
