Efficacy and safety of Janus kinase inhibitors in patients with ankylosing spondylitis: A systematic review and meta-analysis

•Biological therapy (anti-TNF or anti-IL-17) is currently recommended in AS patients with inadequate or no responses to NSAIDs.•Loss of response to existing bDMARDs remains to be solved.•Increasing data showed that JAKi provides benefits for active AS.•Up-to-date meta-analysis provides high-grade evidence supporting JAKi as a new and safe therapeutic strategy for active AS.
