摘要

•SQUID magnetometry and FMR confirm intrinsic ferromagnetism of graphene oxide.•This ferromagnetism is due to spin correlations at zigzag edges.•Magnetic ordering in graphene oxide can be destroyed by atmospheric gases.•At high temperatures the zigzag edges break into one-dimensional molecular magnets.
