摘要

•Magnetic bentonite nanoparticles (mBent) were synthetized by an easy method.•An external magnetic field (EMF) was used to align the mBent nanoparticles.•Enhanced thermal stability was achieved by the nanocomposites prepared with EMF.•Polyethylene nanocomposites showed a highly oriented distribution of nanofillers.
