摘要

•Hochu-ekki-to (TJ-41) enhanced the airway ciliary beating mediated via an [Ca2±]i increase, which stimulates the mucociliary clearance.•TJ-41 stimulates expression of the temperature-activated Ca2± channels including TRPV4.•A basal [Ca2±]i elevated by TJ-41 activates the airway ciliary beating and may cause various pharmacological activities already reported.
