P454. Eating Disorder Pathology is Associated With Lower Cortical Folding in the Insula of Adolescents With Anorexia Nervosa

Individuals with anorexia nervosa (AN) show global and regional reductions in brain gyrification (i.e., cortical folding). Low gyrification has been shown to predict poorer outcomes in AN though it is unclear how such alterations are related to pathology. We sought to explore the relationship between local gyrification index (LGI) within the insula, a key brain region implicated in AN given its role in interoception, and multiple relevant psychological constructs.
