摘要

•Tungsten nitride nanotubes (WN-NTs) were used as host material for fabrication of stable sulfur cathode.•The WN-NTs/S composites show a initial discharge capacity of 1067.6 mAh g−1 with a good cycling stability at a rate of 0.1C.•A reversible capacity of 440.4 mA h g−1 was maintained after 400 cycles at 1 C.
