Surgical implantation of CEB-01, novel drug delivery matrix, in patients with recurrent or locally advanced retroperitoneal soft tissue sarcoma (RPS)

Background: Surgical resection (SX) with gross and microscopically negative margins is the mainstay treatment for locally advanced RPS, however, resections are often incomplete, resulting in local recurrence. Local delivery of SN-38 by a biocompatible and biodegradable implant matrix (CEB-01) may control residual microscopic disease and reduce and/or delay local recurrence while decreasing systemic toxicity.
