Construction of a novel Co-based coordination polymer and its study of non-enzymatic glucose sensors

Coordination polymers (CPs) are widely used as a new functional material, but their poor electrical conductivity limits their applications in electrochemical sensing to some extent. In this work, a new Co-based coordination polymer [Co(HPBA) (H2O)(2)](n). (1) was synthesized by a solvothermal method, and Ag@1 nanocomposite was obtained by loading Ag nanoparticles on it. The composite has significantly improved electrochemical properties over the native coordination polymer, and the non-enzymatic electrochemical sensor constructed using it can be used for the detection of glucose solutions. The electrochemical test results showed that Ag@1 has good electrocatalytic activity for the oxidation of glucose with high sensitivity in the detection range of 10-1000 mu M and detection limit of 0.45 mu M. In addition, the selectivity and stability of the sensor were investigated, and it was highly resistant to interference and stable up to 1500 s. This work provides a new idea for the rapid and sensitive detection of glucose. It strongly demonstrates that CPs-based composites have promising applications in the field of sensors.
