摘要

•The mechanism of energy transfer from Ce3+ to Cr3+ in (Gd,Y)3Al5O12 host is studied.•The effects of Y3+ substitution for Gd3+ are revealed.•The color temperature can be tailored in a wide range from ∼5075 to 3374 K.
