Pos-689 application of an advanced ultrafiltration management system using awak sorbent-based peritioneal dialysis in a porcine model

In sorbent-based peritoneal dialysis (PD), spent dialysate is processed continuously and the regenerated dialysate is reconstituted with glucose, calcium and magnesium before returning to the patient’s peritoneum. Glucose infusion allows steady and sustained ultrafiltration (UF) production. Ultrafiltration requirements vary from patient to patient and in standard-of-care (SOC) PD modalities, targeted daily ultrafiltration volume can be regulated by controlling the concentration of dialysis solutions used.
