FACE EMOTION RECOGNITION USING A CRISIS RELATED SMARTPHONE APP

Especially during a natural crisis, stressful events may happen and people use social media tools to ask for help or assistance. Priority is given by rescue workers, to those people in high physical or psychological need. In case a selfie is attached to the message by the user, face analysis can be used to assess the emotional state of the user. In this paper we present a system to recognize emotions in facial expressions using Convolutional Neural Networks and AffectNet Database.
