It is well known that a diagnosis of some chronic diseases which involve strict dietary adherence as part of their management e.g. type 1 diabetes mellitus and coeliac disease, increases the risk of eating disorder (ED) development however to date there is a lack of research investigating the prevalence and/or risk of ED in populations with food allergies. The aim of this systematic review is to report the prevalence and/or incidence rates of ED and the types of ED observed in individuals with food allergies.
