Preparation and characterization of a new chiral metal-organic framework with spiranes

摘要
•WIG-5, a homochiral Zn4O-(R)-spiro[3.3]heptane-2,6-dicarboxylate MOF was prepared.•Single crystal XRD shows two interpenetrating frameworks with P212121 spacegroup.•The TG/MS experiments show that WIG-5 is stable up to 300 °C.•The stereostructure of the birefringent WIG-5 was confirmed by VCD spectroscopy.•The calculated surface area is near 1700 m2g−1 with voids only for small molecules.
