摘要

•Synthesis of cytosporone E and thirteen analogs pharmacomodulated on the positions 3,4 and 6 was performed•All compounds were screened for their antibacterial activity against S. aureus, E. coli and P. aeruginosa.•Six compounds showed significant activity against MSSA•One compound was 10 times more active against MRSA compared to the sensitive strain•Most active compounds were not cytotoxic against Beas-2B cell lines at their MIC values
