A hybrid multi-regional input-output model of China: Integrating the physical agricultural biomass and food system into the monetary supply chain

•Hybridize the physical agri-food system with the monetary supply chain of China.•Specify 84 agri-food products and 75 processes for supply/use/input-output analysis.•Apply the hybrid MRIO model to provincial blue water footprint accounting in 2012.•Quantify the uncertainty from key assumptions of feed demands, trade, and prices.•The hybrid MRIO model reduces the uncertainty of sector-limited monetary MRIO model.
