摘要

•One novel non-interpenetrated two dimensional structure with U-shaped Cu4I4 clusters was constructed.•The synthesis, crystal structure and luminescent properties of the compound were described.•The compound shows high fluorescent quenching efficiency to Fe3+ ion.
