Application of heuristic UTD formulation for describing scattering by a thin and multilayer anisotropic slab

The previously developed heuristic uniform theory of diffraction (UTD) corner and wedge diffraction coefficients for a thin lossless anisotropic slab are generalized and applied for predicting electromagnetic scattering by a thin and multilayer anisotropic slab with complex permittivity and permeability tensors. The effective reflection and transmission coefficients of a thin and multilayer slab are used in the heuristic formulation to determine the scattered fields. Numerical results are provided for various scattering problems that demonstrate the application of the heuristic formulations for a thin and multilayer structure.
