Verification Testing of Multi-Dynamical Solver for Multiferroic Antennas

Verification testing of an unconditionally stable finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) solver is presented to validate the accuracy of a numerical framework to understand 3D multiferroic antennas, i.e., a coupled mechanics and electromagnetic problem. Within this framework, the electric, mechanical, and magnetic constitutive relations are substituted into Maxwell's equations and Newton's laws, with the Gilbert damping included within a rate dependent magnetic constitutive relation. Three model comparison tests are performed, one for each domain of physics that the algorithm covers, i.e., electrodynamics, elastodynamics, and micromagnetics damping.
