A study on the effect of absorbing medium on solar desalination system

In today's the scarcity of fresh water and deficiency of conventional energy are the two main challenges, facing by the human civilization. The best alternate method to convert saline and brackish water into fresh water by using unconventional source of energy that device is known as solar still. Solar still uses the solar energy which is freely and abundantly available on earth surface. The major limitation of traditional solar still, it's less efficiency and productivity. To overcome this problem, many researchers has done many modifications in solar still. Some of them uses the different absorbing material in the still to increase its productivity. In this paper, we will attempt to present the current state and feasibility of applications of various still designs and the effect of absorbing medium to desalinate the water with salinity and impurities into fresh water in order to enhance the productive capacity of suggested methodologies.
