A synthetic method for linking a spacer chain to highly functionalized chloromethylated resin beads was developed and applied in distinct projects, studying the incorporation of small peptide chains, the ion-pairing ability of charged beads and the potential for an inter-bead Diels-Alder reaction. C-13 NMR and photomicroscopy were the main experimental techniques utilized for these applications. [GRAPHICS] .
