摘要
The particle accelerators have tremendous application prospects in basic physics, energy science, medicine, and other fields. However, the size and cost of traditional radio frequency accelerators fundamentally limit their popularity and accessibility. To achieve continuous acceleration, we propose and simulate a millimeter-scale particle accelerator using readily available THz pulses to drive three-stage cascade symmetric dielectric prisms. By calculation and simulation, we show that a mean energy gain of 1.057 MeV can be obtained from a 7-millimeter device. The corresponding acceleration gradient is over 300 MV/m, which is quite attractive for the development of on-chip particle accelerators for broad application prospects.
