摘要
The Genome Database for Rosaceae (GDR, https://www.rosaceae.org) provides online resources to facilitate basic, translational and applied research for the many fruit, nut and ornamental crops belonging to the economically important Rosaceae family. Fully integrated data for Prunus persica includes curated genome sequences, genes, genetic maps, markers, QTL, genes, transcripts, germplasm, and publications, made accessible to browse, query and download through easy-to-use web interfaces and tools. New features include computationally characterized Prunus persica transcripts (RefTrans) assembled and annotated from published RNASeq and EST data, available to browse, search and download though search pages and the genome browser, JBrowse. To facilitate efficient collection of breeding data, GDR is supporting development of a platform called FieldBook, an open-source App for android phones and tablets, which allows researchers to replace hard-copy field books or Excel files. GDR is building a Breeding Information Management System (BIMS) which allows breeders to upload data collected with the FieldBook app directly to their private, secure database on GDR. The use of FieldBook and development of BIMS for the Clemson University peach breeding program will be discussed as well as the utility of other data and tools available in GDR for Prunus researchers.
