A high-throughput tetraphenylethylene (TPE)-based fluorescent sensor array was constructed for the identification and detection of microorganisms, which utilizes three TPE derivatives with different numbers of cationic side chains to detect and discriminate various microorganisms at concentrations down to 1 x 10(3) CFU mL(-1).
